DO YOU WANT THE TRUTH?
Do You Want The Truth?
15 I do not pray that You should take them out of the world, but that You should keep them from the evil one. 16 They are not of the world, just as I am not of the world. 17 Sanctify them by Your truth. Your word is truth. — John 17:15–17
“Revival can light a fire in you, but only truth can keep you standing when the fire begins to fade.” — PG
This past weekend at Shabbach, we watched a generation encounter God in undeniable ways. Altars were full. Tears flowed. Chains broke. Hands lifted. Hearts awakened. You could feel it in the room something real, something holy, something unmistakable. Revival is breaking out among this generation, and it is beautiful to behold.
But here is the sobering truth encounters ignite passion, yet only truth establishes foundation.
Emotion can spark a moment, but truth sustains a life.
If these young men and women are going to make it as followers of Jesus in a culture that is loud, informed, aggressive, and unashamed, they must be anchored to something unchanging. Not trends. Not feelings. Not personalities. Not platforms. They must be anchored to truth.
And truth is not whatever works.
Truth is not whatever feels right.
Truth is God’s opinion on any subject.
Leonard Ravenhill once said, “An ounce of truth is worth a ton of religion.” Truth is not meant to decorate our beliefs. It is meant to govern our lives.
Jesus did not say He knew the truth. He did not say He taught the truth. He said, “I am the way, the truth, and the life. No one comes to the Father except through Me.” Truth is not a concept. Truth is a Person. Truth has a name, and His name is Jesus.
From the very beginning, truth has been foundational. In Genesis, God speaks and chaos submits. In John, we learn that the Word was not created. It was God. Then the Word became flesh, walked among us, and revealed glory filled with grace and truth. Jesus is not a new idea in history. He is the original reality everything else answers to.
Culture will challenge Him.
Systems will try to ban Him.
Voices will attempt to twist Him.
Yet after every attempt to dismantle Him, He remains undefeated.
Paul understood this when he wrote to Timothy not from a pulpit, but from a cold Roman prison. With his final breath of influence, he did not send strategy. He did not send comfort. He did not send innovation. He sent Scripture. Why? Because when everything else is knocked out from under you, the Word stabilizes you.
This is why we are calling this generation into The Bible Revival.
The Word is not outdated. It is undefeated.
It is an anchor when life is chaotic.
It is light when the path is dark.
It heals, corrects, restores, trains, and forms.
A church without the Word of God may be full of activity, but it will be empty of authority. Charles Spurgeon famously observed, “The Bible that is falling apart usually belongs to someone who isn’t.” We are living in the days Paul warned about itching ears, selective truth, entertaining fables. The question is not whether truth still exists. The question is whether we want it.
Because truth does not ask for your opinion.
Truth does not bend to preference.
Truth does not negotiate with culture.
The Word of God is not advice.
The Word of God is a verdict.
Jesus prayed that we would not be removed from the world, but protected within it, sanctified by truth. The same Word that saves you is the Word that keeps you. The same truth that frees you is the truth that forms you. Ignorance is not bliss. It is bondage. But the truth that is known, lived, loved, and obeyed will make you free!
Live This Out Loud
Turn On: “Easy” by Mercy Culture Worship and proceed through the rest of this blog.
Open your Bible daily, not just devotionally but directionally, asking, “What does God say about this?” before making decisions.
Let Scripture speak first before your emotions, your preferences, or the opinions of others.
Carry a physical Bible again as a declaration that God’s Word has weight in your life.
Memorize Scripture so truth is available when pressure hits. When culture contradicts the Word, choose obedience over acceptance. Build rhythms where the Word is read, spoken, and obeyed until it becomes the framework through which you see everything.
Prayer
Holy Spirit, I come to You in the name of Jesus. Anchor my heart in truth. Sanctify me by Your Word. Let revival become formation, and encounter become obedience. I choose truth, no matter the cost. Amen.
May the Lord God of your fathers make you a thousand times more numerous than you are, and bless you as He has promised you. — Deuteronomy 1:11
