WE WE OPEN OUR MOUTH

When We Open Our Mouth

“And these signs will follow those who believe: In My name they will cast out demons; they will speak with new tongues.” — Mark 16:17 (NKJV)

“Your mouth was never meant to agree with defeat.” - PG

One of the most powerful things God has given you is something you use every day: your mouth. Your words matter. What you speak about your circumstances, your family, your faith, and your future reflects where you place your confidence.

Jesus gave believers authority, but that authority is not about bringing attention to ourselves. It is about pointing people to Him.

What Does It Mean to Walk in the Signs of a Believer?

Jesus said signs would follow those who believe. These signs are not meant to advertise the believer but to demonstrate the authority of the risen Christ. The first signs He mentions involve the mouth: casting out demons and speaking in new tongues.

God wants believers who do more than know the right words. He wants people who genuinely trust Him and walk in relationship with Him.

Why Does Your Relationship With Jesus Matter?

Acts 19 tells the story of the seven sons of Sceva, who attempted to use Jesus' name without having a genuine relationship with Him.

“Jesus I know, and Paul I know; but who are you?” — Acts 19:15 (NKJV)

They knew the name but did not know the One behind it. Authority does not come from how loudly you speak or how spiritual you appear. It comes from a genuine relationship with Jesus and a life submitted to Him.

Why Does Authority Matter When You Speak?

When someone gives an order, the authority behind it comes from the one who authorized it.

The same is true when we speak in the name of Jesus. The power is not in us; it is in Him.

Why Is the Church So Silent?

Romans 10:17 tells us faith comes by hearing the Word of God. If the church refuses to speak, how will others hear the truth?

When the early church faced opposition, they prayed for boldness rather than simply asking God to remove their problems.

“Now, Lord, look on their threats, and grant to Your servants that with all boldness they may speak Your word.” — Acts 4:29 (NKJV)

Maybe God has not removed you from a difficult situation because He wants to use you right where you are. Your family, workplace, and community need to hear what God has done in your life. Do not let fear silence your testimony.

What Is the Enemy Really After?

If the enemy cannot steal your salvation, he will try to steal your sound. He wants you to speak more about your fears than your faith.

There is a difference between acknowledging your circumstances and agreeing with them. You can be honest about what you are facing without allowing it to have the final word. Stop using your mouth to agree with what Jesus has given you the authority to overcome.

Breakdown or Breakthrough: Who Has Your Mouth?

Pressure will come, but what comes out of your mouth when it does? The enemy wants to break you down, but God can use difficult seasons to strengthen your faith and bring you through.

Do not allow pressure to silence you. Keep speaking His promises and trusting His plan. God is not looking for people who can manufacture a moment. He is looking for surrendered vessels who depend on Him.

Live It Out Loud:

Your words should reflect your faith, not simply your circumstances. Here are seven practical ways to live this out:

1. Start Your Day With Worship. Listen to “Champion” - By Dante Bowe and remind yourself that God's promises stand regardless of your circumstances.

2. Speak Life Over Your Situation. Replace negative conversations with words that reflect God's promises.

3. Pray for Someone Every Day. Use your voice to encourage others and bring their needs before God.

4. Pray in the Spirit. Make intentional time to yield yourself to the Holy Spirit.

5. Encourage Someone Who Is Struggling. Remind someone of God's faithfulness.

6. Respond to Pressure With Faith. Choose God's Word over fear when difficulties come.

7. Let Your Actions Match Your Words. Live out the faith you profess every day.

Hell needs to tremble when you show up. Heaven needs to hear your voice. Open your mouth and use it for the kingdom!

My Prayer

Lord, help me use my words to reflect my faith in You. Give me boldness to speak Your truth, wisdom in difficult moments, and a heart that remains submitted to You. Holy Spirit, guide my prayers and use my voice to encourage others and point them to Jesus. Let my life demonstrate Your power and faithfulness. In Jesus' name, Amen.

“May the LORD God of your fathers make you a thousand times more numerous than you are, and bless you as He has promised you!” — Deuteronomy 1:11 (NKJV)
